At Teilo’s Tots we encourage healthy eating and drinking. All meals provided are freshly cooked onsite, using fresh ingredients. Our menus are balanced, staff have completed food and nutrition training to be able to provide a menu that will support childrens growth and development whilst offering the children opportunities to enjoy their meals and taste new foods.
We hold a 5* rating with The Food Standard Agency and follow all guidelines, procedures and policies (June 2018) All staff hold food hyigene certificates, which are updated every 3 years. We also teach children about food-related hygiene, for example, washing their hands before eating.
We play simple games teaches our children the reasons why some foods are healthy / some are not and we encourage them to make healthy food choices.
Cooking is a large part of structured activities at Teilo’s Tots and our Strong Pineapples are given opportunities to pop on an apron and get cooking!
Meals are served ‘family style’ where the children are encouraged to socialise with their friends and carers. This helps encourage children to try new foods, make healthy food choices and self serve many meals/snacks.
We celebrate and value diversity with exciting menu’s which accommodate each individual child’s requirements (allergies, intolerances, religion and culture), by catering for special diets. Please keep us notified of any changes to your child’s dietary requirements and preferences.
Younger babies are given milk provided by parents, at times which suit their individual needs. We follow each of our Sweet Strawberries routines and will be able to support both of you as the weaning process begins.

We provide fresh milk and water throughout the day to ensure that the children are always well hydrated. Menus change weekly and seasonally throughout the year.
Teilos Tots is signed up with Design 2 Smile, staff are trained to encouraged to clean their teeth every morning – Children are given toothbrushing packs to encourage toothbrushing at home
